The Milwaukee Mile to Host Street Drags Starting Tuesday May 15

West Allis, WI- The sounds of horsepower will once again fill the Milwaukee Mile at Wisconsin State Fair Park this summer. Motorsports Management, Inc announced today that they will be promoting five Street Drag events at the historic facility, on the third Tuesday of each month beginning May 15. Competing on a 300 foot asphalt drag strip along the front straightaway of the Milwaukee Mile, these events feature drag and street machines, including everything from motorcycles, imports and nostalgia to custom rides and diesel trucks.

“When we got looking at what we could do, it became apparent that the Milwaukee Mile would be a perfect fit for our popular Street Drag events.” Stated Motorsports Managements Chuck Deery. “With the long straightaway and elevated pit road, it’s perfect for competitors and spectators alike, not to mention a great location for the Shine ‘N Show Car Show.” Motorsports Management continues to lease the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, WI as it has since 1987 and brought Street Drags to that facility eight years ago. Deery’s business partner Gregg McKarns began Street Drags two seasons ago at his family owned and operated Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI, boasting a record 288 drag bracket competitors last September.

With 18 or more brackets of Street Drags, competitors will be matched against similar vehicles and compete in separate lanes during each Tuesday night contest. A double elimination format ensures each participant will get a minimum of two runs at each event.

The Shine ‘N Show Car Show will be held along the inner pit wall, allowing easy access and a great vantage point of all of the happenings throughout the event. The top entrants will then be narrowed down to the final judging. A $15 fee will be charged per Car Show entrant.

All access admission is $12 per person with a registration fee of $15 per bracket entered. Ages 18 and under will need a completed Minors Waiver and Release Form completed. Gates will open at 6pm with trial runs beginning at 6:30pm. Bracket racing is slated for a 7:30pm starting time, the Car Show winner will be determined by applause at approximately 9pm with Street Drags running through their completion, usually just before 10pm.

The Milwaukee Mile at Wisconsin State Fair Park is located at 640 S 84th St in West Allis, WI. Take the newly opened I-94 exit 106, south to Gate 5. Street Drags will take place on the third Tuesday of each month, May 15, June 19, July 17, August 21 and September 18.
